Since I like to carry my bags over my shoulders, my straps are extra long. HOWEVER, if you would like shorter straps, just let me know and I'll adjust the length when I make yours. Also, you can see that the straps are double stitched into the band that goes around the top opening. In case you're wondering, the bag is lined, but not padded. I didn't think padding was necessary for grocery shopping.
