Tea Parties Archived from Cracked Teapot
Never trust a man who, when left alone in a room with a tea cozy, doesn't try it on.
When having tea, friends are more important than fine china.
When the last drop is emptied from the cup, Friendship fills it again to the brim.
She who warms the pot
encourages friendship;
she who pours tea
gathers love.
Teapot Scones make a Perfect Tea Time

"I made scones using the teapot and tea cup cutters and they turned out well." Stephanie M. from Dallas Texas wrote, "It was fun making the scones with the cookie cutters. I used the Lemonberry Scone Mix from Homemade Gourmet, so it was really easy. The girls got a kick out of the fact that the scones were shaped like teapots."
"Emily, my 10-year-old (in blue) had her friend Rachel over after school, so they had a little tea party with the scones and tea. Emily has enjoyed tea parties since she was two, when she received a tea set for her second birthday. She really enjoys going to tea, and I love taking her to tearooms in Dallas and Plano , nearby."
As part of her busy career, Stephanie gives Tea Lectures and Tours to women's groups. "I plan to take the cookie cutter purse to my next tea lecture, which I am doing with a ladies’ tea group soon, to give them examples of the fun products that are available for teas." (Thank you, Stephanie!)

Royal Red Hatter's Club
Walker House, San Dimas, California

"I bet you forgot about me." The letter began. (Not so, I thought as I read along.) "We had a lot of trouble getting our party together after a year, finally we got together March 20, 2010."
"If you remember my daughter ordered 26 Friendship Tea Bags and my friend Katherine from Oregon called too. We really had a mix up. (Surprise gone awry. Both had placed an order without the other knowing.) Well, our party was a great success - everyone loved the Tea Bags and we had a great time."
. "I'm sending your some pictures. Here's one of our Royal Red Hatter's Club standing outside of the historic Walker House in San Dimas, California. That's me on the right with the purple shirt and tan pants. Thank you Grandma Rae for making our party full of fun." Connie C

More Tea Party Photos

A Birthday Tea Party was given for Jessica's 8th Birthday.  Each young guests was served her own individual Tea Service. Katherine, our hostess unseen, gave etiquette lessons and explained about life for girls at the turn of the last century.

Here's a group of older girls at a "Thank You for Your Friendship Tea Party" given to by Pat B. While enjoying their delicious repast, Pat gave a little speech of thanks to each guests for being such a wonderful part of her life. The young girl in the wheelchair (foreground in pink) is Pat's 90 yr old Mother.

A little product research: Taste Testing Tea at Grandma Rae's. We tasted scone mix and tea bread mix for a vendor. It was lots of yummy fun.

Changing the World
One Teddy Bear at a Time

Faith is a young girl who lives in Lafayette Indiana, far away from the soldiers of the 240th who know her as "the wonderful girl who sends us Teddy Bears and Tea." It was first called Operation Teddy Bear by Faith when she was in the 4th grade - she has now (2008)sent over 1000 teddy bears to the troops.
Some of those teddy bears were carrying Friendship Tea bags with a special saying for our dear soldiers. Faith's story was featured in American Girl Magazine Nov/Dec 2008
While continuing to send Bear Hugs to the Troops., Faith embarked on a two year project to write a book about her Tea Time experiences with 30 famous people of Indiana. She already has a publisher. (Right)  Faith with The Daughters Of Mother Theodore Guerin.
Here she is with all the girls in her Mother Annie's nursery school "The Little Tin Soldier" in Lafayette, Indiana. So many of you have asked about Faith and her Bear Hugs to the Troops. Faith was one of two Nebraskan nominees for the Prudential Spirit of Community Program. In a follow up email her Mom said,

"I received a phone call ... from Prudential Spirit Of Community Program from their publicity director Dawn. Two publicists had gotten in touch with them looking for Faith. They want to put Faith in their publications. The 2011 World Almanac For  Children and the Weekly Reader. I'm in awe as to how much this program has grown." God bless you Faith. We are proud of you! Keep going!

Nursery Students don
white gloves & bowler hats

Each year the Green Pond Winter Nursery School students celebrate their mothers by having a tea party.  All the food is made by the preschoolers and lovingly served to their mothers.  The students prepare for weeks in advance memorizing songs and poem as well as learning how to serve Mom a cup of "tea" (lemonade) from a real tea pot.  Pride can be seen on their faces as they sit at the table at the end of the day and share "tea" with Mom.

Paulette Visits Strawberry Tree Tea Room

This summer my sister, my sisters-in-law and myself took our Mother to the Strawberry Tree Tea Room in Curwensville, Penn.. What a delightful time we had!  The tea and the food  were fantastic.

Curwensville is located towards the center of the state in Clearfield County. Check out their website at www.StrawberryTreeShop.com

They also have a nice gift shop full of great items.
Blessings

What is a Tea Party?

What is a tea party? Friends! And evidently my daughter Sandy agrees with her Mother. (Smart child!) Here's a pix of her and two friends having evening tea and laughter. Sandy (C), Carolyn (L) and Kim (R).

Linda's First Ever Tea Party

Linda from Arizona invited me to her First Ever Tea Party. Actually she invited my Encouragement Cards and my Friendship Tea Bags. Afterwards she sent in some pictures. Oh my! Doesn't the cart look beautiful. Linda, we raise our tea cups to you for a job well done. Now that you know what fun it is, more tea parties are in your future!

Linda told me a bit about her party. "I served the tea from my antique tea cart. I loved the Friendship Tea Bags.  They are so adorable and each with a sweet sentiment.  The "101 Lovely Things to Think about"  were just that- "lovely."  My guests loved them and they certainly added to the festivities of the day! You helped make my "first tea" a great success!"
She sent pictures of herself and her friends. Look closely at the picture on the right and you'll see her little doggie was invited as well.

How MCDuff Took Charge

Janet from Carbondale, Illinois emailed me about a lovely silver teapot she had that belonged to her Grandfather. She wanted it to have a place on honor and a special tea cozy. A few days after she received the tea cozy I received this photo. It seems that her ginger cat McDuff had decided on better use for the cozy.

Lessons learned at
End of Year Tea Party

The Table is set. You are cordially invited to attend The End of Year Tea Party for the 5th at the Stillwater Christian School in Kalispell, Montana. Their teacher wanted to end the year with a meaningful time together. The principal couldn't understand why the cafeteria wasn't a suitable place for a tea party. Perhaps the joy on the girl's faces is part of the answer.
The tea party was at Sherill's (Mom's) home. She wrote, "...we thought by having the girls share in the elegant setting of a traditional high tea, they might see the importance of being kind to others, the importance of giving, vs. receiving and how important it is to be there for each other..." I was happy to attend by sending Bible Verse Encouragement Cards in oversized Friendship Tea Bags for each girl's place setting. Even though the party was held out of school, Lois (Sherill's sis-in-law and teacher) did not neglect her teaching responsibilities, showing her students examples of different teas - loose tea, tea bags and flowering teas.

Grandma's Tea Thought: Cambric Tea, sweet milk flavored with tea. I am reborn as I hold  my cup with both hands -A child with gray hair.
Eyes half closed I drink deeply, holding the sweetness in my mouth. I throw back my head merrily laughing at the follies of youth.
