I can't believe I actually made these things! I remember my Mom and Aunt Rose making them for a The Women's Auxiliary Firehouse Bazaar in/around 1957. Say it isn't so! I am getting old!! I am no longer making these BUT...I have made a PDF pattern . If you use pinking sheers to cut the pattern, the edges are less likely to ravel. I usually sew the neck lace first. When I begin the edge lace, I begin under the lace cut off spot of the neck, that way all the "stops" are on the back side of the dress. I place the ribbon tie under the lace when I get to the spot where the tie belongs.
